For golf fans of a certain age who may be unfamiliar with Good Good Golf, here’s a quick refresher: social media is the place to be for young content creators in the golf space these days, and the group of young men who comprise Good Good Golf are among the most successful, with 1.7 million subscribers on YouTube.
What’s the draw? Making the game entertaining and fun. Good Good primarily posts videos of themselves playing golf or taking on unorthodox challenges, occasionally alongside other notable figures from the game. The group also sells branded apparel and accessories on their website, and partnered with Callaway last year in a deal that included video content, new series, long-form challenges, cameos from Callaway staff players and the development of co-branded, limited-edition equipment, like the Good Good Callaway Paradym AI Smoke Triple Diamond and AI Smoke MAX drivers, which quickly sold out.
It goes without saying that Good Good’s members enjoy celebrity status in certain segments of the golf market, and on this week’s episode of Subpar, Good Good member Brad Dalke, whose golf resume includes a runner-up performance at the U.S. Amateur in 2016 and a NCAA team championship in 2017, explained to hosts Colt Knost and Drew Stoltz what it’s like living in a house with his fellow collaborators.
According to Dalke, the vibe has calmed down since three collaborators recently moved into a different house.
“It’s a lot smaller crew in the main house, which is nice,” he said. “I don’t stay there a ton but it is much more chill now. But for a while there, it was, like, seven guys and four dogs in there.”
Still, Dalke has an enviable perk in his living quarters.
“I was staying in the movie theater room, so I had no windows. It was hard to wake up sometimes,” he said. “But it was a cool room. I got the projector to watch each night while I was laying in bed and all that. But it was it was a madhouse. It’s much more tame now, like I said. It was pretty crazy there for a little while.”
