What’s a good reason to love the Boston Celtics 2024 NBA offseason? In the minds of some, there are as many reasons to love what the Celtics’ front office did this offseason as there are players on the roster from Boston’s Banner 18 campaign coming back.

That, as it happens to turn out, is the tack taken by Bleacher Report league analyst Grant Hughes in a recent article that surveyed what there is to love about every team in the Association’s respective offseasons. Such a question is a bit hard to answer for the Celtics in any other way, given they mainly ran their title-winning squad from last season back, with a few minor exceptions.

“Jayson Tatum, Derrick White and Sam Hauser all got extensions,” writes Hughes. Luke Kornet and Xavier Tillman, both now more important than ever with Kristaps Porzingis set to miss a chunk of 2024-25, are back on one-year minimums.”

“Neemias Queta inked a three-year deal to return as well,” adds the B/R writer. “The Celtics let Oshae Brissett walk, but they offset that loss by adding Lonnie Walker IV on a minimum deal. In short, Boston brought back everyone who mattered in last year’s title run and should be the favorites to repeat.”

Alright, we’re sold — and evidently easy to sell if all you have to do is suggest that the Celtics ought to be title favorites for 2024-25.
