New year, new job? If you’re looking for a new job to start 2025 and live in Florida, you might want to consider job hunting around Orlando.

Personal finance company WalletHub just released its list of the best cities for jobs in 2025 and the home of the happiest place on earth slid into the top 10 rankings.

Orlando also ranked on one of WalletHub’s “best” lists for jobs in May 2024, placing as the second-best city for new graduates looking for a job.

Here’s where Orlando placed on WalletHub’s list of the best cities for jobs in 2025 and why.

What U.S. city has the most job opportunities in 2025?

To find the U.S. cities with the most promising job markets in 2025, WalletHub compared more than 180 cities across 31 metrics in two categories: job market and socio-economics.

The metrics used ranged from job opportunities per job seeker, to each state’s employment growth and monthly average starting salary.

Based on WalletHub’s metrics, the best city in the U.S. for finding a job is Scottsdale, Arizona, due to the quantity and quality of the jobs there.

According to the study, Scottsdale “Boasts one of the lowest unemployment rates in the country, which demonstrates that most residents have no trouble finding work.”

“Scottsdale ranks first when it comes to the prevalence of paid internship opportunities as well, so it’s great for people looking for workforce experience during school,,, (It) doesn’t just deliver quantity when it comes to jobs, though – it has quality as well.”

Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and Columbia, Maryland took second and third places, respectively.

The only Florida city to make the top 10 list was Orlando, sliding into tenth place.

Is Orlando a good place to find a job?

Yes, Orlando is a good place to find a job. Orlando took fifth place in the “job opportunities” category in WalletHub’s study.

According to U.S. News and World Report, “Orlando has a healthier job market than similarly sized metro areas.”

Orlando moved up four rankings compared to WalletHub’s 2024 version of this jobs list, when both it and Tampa made the list. Then, Orlando didn’t even break the top 10, taking fourteenth place.

On WalletHub’s list of best places for recent graduates in 2024, Orlando placed as the second-best overall city for starting a career because it had one of the lowest unemployment rates in the U.S. and the second-highest number of entry-level job openings per capita.

“People who get a job in Orlando have the potential to experience a lot of income growth, too, as the median household income grows by around 8.2% annually – one of the highest rates in the country,” the study said.

“In addition, people in Orlando have higher job satisfaction than people in most other cities. To top things off, Orlando ranks second among the most fun cities in America, so there’s plenty to do when off the clock.”
