LIV Golf Nashville 2024: Bryson DeChambeau talks about missing Paris Olympics
Watch U.S. Open champion Bryson DeChambeau talk about missing Paris Olympics 2024 while at LIV Golf Nashville on Wednesday.
The 2024 Olympics are ready to hit the links. That’s right, it’s time for Olympic golf!
Le Golf National outside Paris will host the third Olympic golf tournament since the sport returned to the Games in 2016. All of the top seven in the World Golf Ranking will be there, including 2024 Masters champ Scottie Scheffler and 2024 PGA Championship and British Open winner and reigning Olympic golf medalist Xander Schauffele, who lives in Palm Beach County, Florida. The only 2024 major winner who won’t be in Paris is Bryson DeChambeau, and his ties to LIV Golf are a key reason why.
The format will be familiar to most golf fans, but with a few twists. There will be four 18-hole rounds of stroke play as usual, but unlike in PGA Tour events, there will be no cuts after Round 2. If there is a tie for the lead after four rounds, there will be a sudden-death playoff until there is a winner. This is similar to PGA Tour events, only in the Olympics, there will also be tiebreakers for second and third place, if necessary, to determine silver and bronze medal-winners.
