British number one Jack Draper has been busy in the off-season after enjoying a superb breakthrough year in 2024.
He will be eyeing a strong Grand Slam start at the 2025 Australian Open, although Draper was forced to withdraw from training with Carlos Alcaraz.
A small hip issue forced the 22-year-old to miss the camp in Spain, with Draper hopeful his injury will clear soon and won’t impact his Australian Open plans.
Draper reached the US Open semi-final in his most recent Grand Slam appearance, losing to eventual champion Jannik Sinner.
That superb run came after he won titles in Stuttgart and Vienna, with the Briton now in a career-high ranking of 15th.
Draper has now revealed the role that getting to know his body better has played in his rise, telling BBC Sport: “I know lots of other young players, we’re constantly trying to understand our bodies better.
“We’re constantly trying to have an understanding of how we’re going to manage our bodies better for the long run and what we need to do, what exercises we need to do, what maybe not to do, not to push in certain ways because it might have an effect on that certain part of the body.
“So I’m definitely there right now, I’m trying to understand more about my body so that I can have a hopefully long, successful career.”

Draper also discussed his regular undertaking of hotpod yoga in recent times, saying: “I mean, some of that stuff is just kind of acclimatisation for Australia.
“Obviously we live in the UK, it’s not the sunniest here. I was planning on going away to get some more heat, but it’s just kind of getting that exposure, that’s something I’m definitely looking into.
“Obviously tennis follows the sun, so we’re trying to just adjust and acclimatise early so that I’m ready for what’s to come.”
Along with injury problems in 2024, Draper also battled sickness, which came to a head during that US Open clash with Sinner.
The British number one vomited three times during the match, having also been sick after his 2024 Australian Open first round win.

Draper confirmed he would look into the issue after the New York experience in September, with the Briton now sharing an update on the situation.
“I think that stuff will just clear up with more experience,” he said. “Obviously the US Open was an incredible run for me, being in the semis is something that I wanted since I was a kid, to be in those big stages against the best players in the world like Jannik.
“And what happened happened, but I suppose with more experience, more learnings on the tour as I get older… I feel like I’ve changed so much as a person in the last six months, three months what have you, so I’m hoping that as time goes on I’ll be able to manage these things better and become the player I want to be, and hopefully winning these big tournaments.”
