India is staring down the barrel of a historic series whitewash against New Zealand after losing five early wickets during their run chase at Wankhede Stadium on Sunday.
Chasing an awkward 147-run target for victory in the third and final Test, India collapsed to 5-29 as New Zealand’s spinners wreaked havoc on the turning deck.

Indian captain Rohit Sharma was the first to depart, top-edging a short ball from Black Caps quick Matt Henry for 11 before Shubman Gill left alone a delivery from spinner Ajaz Patel that crashed into off stump.
Patel then removed Indian superstar Virat Kohli for 1, caught at first slip, before tweaker Glenn Phillips trapped opener Yashasvi Jaiswal on the pads for 5.
A few minutes later, Sarfaraz Khan slogged a full toss from Patel directly towards the boundary rider at cow corner, with India losing 5-16 in a dreadful collapse.
