NFL Week 17 picks: Why you should consider Lions, Panthers and Colts
Lorenzo Reyes is back with his three best bets ahead of Week 17 games. Find out why he likes the Lions, Panthers and Colts to cover the spread.
The NFL’s Week 17 continues with a Thursday night game between a Seattle Seahawks team trying to keep its playoff hopes alive against a Chicago Bears team that has been done for a while.
Seattle comes into this road game one game behind the Los Angeles Rams and on a two-game losing streak against the NFC North. It lost its division lead after losses to Green Bay and Minnesota.
The Bears, meanwhile, are on a nine-game skid, as almost nothing has gone right for them after a 4-2 start.
Seattle is a 3 1/2-point favorite in a game it has to have.
The NFL Week 17 Thursday Night Football game between the Seattle Seahawks and Chicago Bears will be played at Soldier Field in Chicago.
The Seahawks at Bears game will be streamed on Amazon Prime.
Al Michaels and Kirk Herbstreit will call the game from the SoFi’s Stadium booth, and Kaylee Hartung will report from the sidelines.
The Seahawks are 3 1/2-road home favorites over the Bears in NFL Week 17 odds for the game, courtesy of BetMGM Sportsbook. The Seahawks are -200 on the moneyline while the Bears are +165. The over/under is set at 42 1/2 points.
Seattle Seahawks
Running back Kenneth Walker III is doubtful with an ankle injury. Brady Russell is questionable with a foot injury.
Chicago Bears injury report
The Bears could be without three safeties. Elijah Hicks (foot) and Tarvarius Moore (knee) have not practiced this week and are doubtful, while Jaquan Brisker is in concussion protocol and is out. Running back Travis Homer, a former Seahawk, is questionable with a hamstring issue.
With a line of 3 1/2 points and an over-under of 42 1/2, the expected result is a Seahawks victory of 23-20 or 23-19.
The site’s formula predicts that the Seahawks will win the NFL Week 17 game against the Bears.
ESPN: Seahawks have a 50.1% chance to beat Bears on Thursday Night Football
The site gives the Bears a 49.5% shot at winning the NFL Week 17 game, with the remaining percentage accounting for a tie.
Dimers: Bears 24, Seahawks 21
It writes: “After extensive simulations, our model gives the Seahawks a win probability of 40%, while the Bears have a win probability of 60%.”
Sportsnaut: Seahawks 24, Bears 17
Matt Johnson writes: “The Seattle Seahawks will be fighting for their playoff hopes in Week 17 while the stakes for the Chicago Bears are about as low as they could get. Kenneth Walker III should fare very well against a Bears’ defense responsible for allowing 148.9 rushing yards and 1.3 rushing touchdowns per game since Week 6. We also expect Mike Macdonald’s defense to create chaos, which Caleb Williams just isn’t equipped to diagnose and beat right now.”
