Things haven’t been easy for the Huskies in recent matchups, as Hurley’s squad was upset by Seton Hall 69-68 in overtime on Saturday before securing a hard-fought comeback win over Villanova on Tuesday. UConn also dropped three games in January, losing to Villanova, Creighton and Xavier.
St. John’s leads the Big East standings with a 14-2 conference record heading into the weekend, with Creighton and Marquette tied at 11-4. UConn trails shortly behind at 10-5, and will look to gain a game in the standings with a win over the Red Storm on Sunday.
