BATON ROUGE – The holiday break is over for LSU women’s basketball.
The No. 3 Tigers (14-0) return to action in their final nonconference game and last tune-up before opening up Southeastern Conference action right after the New Year. LSU hosts Albany to close out the nonconference slate Sunday afternoon inside the Pete Maravich Assembly Center.
Kim Mulkey and LSU haven’t been on the court since star Aneesah Morrow’s homecoming game in Chicago at Illinois-Chicago. The Tigers won going away, 91-73, but after the game, Mulkey was less than pleased with her team’s performance saying the team doesn’t take pride in defense. She also expressed major concern over inconsistencies at the point guard position.
Albany (10-2) comes into Baton Rouge off a close road loss at Wisconsin back on Dec. 20. The Great Danes have a Power Four win this season with a 73-70 victory at Syracuse. Senior forward Kayla Cooper leads the way for Albany putting up 17.8 points per game.
LSU women’s basketball’s game against Albany on Sunday can be streamed on SEC Network+.
