Kentucky basketball: Mark Pope highlights offense after loss to Ole Miss
Kentucky Wildcats basketball coach Mark Pope highlights the team’s good offensive performance in the 98-84 loss to Ole Miss on the road.
LEXINGTON — The number three will figure prominently for Kentucky basketball heading into today’s matchup versus South Carolina.
The reasons, in no specific order:
The good news for the Wildcats (15-7, 4-5 SEC), who are No. 14 in the latest USA TODAY Coaches Poll and AP Top 25 rankings, is the Gamecocks are, on record alone, the worst team in the league.
South Carolina is 10-12 overall and the only winless team in conference play (0-9).
But it’s not as if the Gamecocks haven’t been competitive. Five of their nine SEC setbacks have been by five points or less: Auburn (66-63), Vanderbilt (66-63), Florida (70-69), Mississippi State (65-60 in overtime) and Texas A&M (76-72).
Here’s what you need to know to follow today’s game from home:
UK and South Carolina are slated to tip off at noon today at Rupp Arena.
Betting odds: Kentucky is an 11½-point home favorite (-110) on DraftKings, which set the over/under at 151.5 points (-110). The money line odds are Kentucky -700, South Carolina +500.
