Doha, Qatar: A fire at Umm Bab Tower in West Bay was successfully contained this afternoon, according to the General Directorate of Civil Defence at the Ministry of Interior.
In a social media post, the Ministry stated that the “Civil Defense contained a fire in the outer facade of a residential building in the Abraj area.”
The Ministry also added that no casualties were reported and the building was evacuated as a precaution.
Several videos capturing the incident went viral on social media as passersby captured parts of the building caught on fire. A cloud of dark smoke was also visibly seen in West Bay from afar.
