There are dozens of ways to win a football game, but a walk-off Hail Mary has to take the cake. The Commanders know the feeling, stunning the Chicago Bears, 18-15, after QB Jayden Daniels completed a 52-yard prayer to receiver Noah Brown in the endzone as time expired.

Daniels, nursing a rib injury, not only showed off his tremendous arm strength but navigated around several rushers to make the throw happen. It’s a fitting end considering how the season has gone for the Commanders, who continue to be one of the most surprising stories in the NFL, improving to 6-2 on the year.

Almost every tight end in the NFL

Fittingly, on National Tight Ends Day, the position thrived in Week 8. Ahead of “Sunday Night Football,” 13 tight ends recorded touchdowns, an unofficial record for the annual holiday.

In total, tight ends grabbed 171 receptions for 1,889 yards and 15 scores. However, Kyle Pitts (four receptions, 91 yards) of the Atlanta Falcons and Cade Otton (nine receptions, 81 yards) of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers led the pack for the often-overlooked position, scoring two touchdowns apiece.

Philadelphia Eagles QB Jalen Hurts

The Eagles played their most complete game of 2024, bulldozing the Cincinnati Bengals 37-17 behind a big day from Hurts, who passed for 236 yards (16-of-20) and rushed for 37 yards (10 carries) with four total touchdowns on the day. In the second half alone, the two-time Pro Bowler went 9-of-9 for 150 yards and scored three times.

After a sluggish start, Hurts is beginning to come around, leading the Eagles to three-straight victories while posting a 71.1 percent completion percentage (42-of-59) for 614 yards, 92 rushing yards (31 carries), nine touchdowns and zero turnovers.

Arizona Cardinals WR Marvin Harrison Jr.

After an up-and-down rookie campaign, Harrison produced arguably his most impressive performance of the year in the Cardinals’ 28-27 victory over the Miami Dolphins. Clicking with quarterback Kyler Murray perhaps for the first time this season, the 2024 No. 4 pick caught six of seven targets for 111 yards and a score.

Harrison notched two first-quarter touchdowns in a Week 2 win over the Los Angeles Rams but showed up in the clutch on Sunday. He caught a 22-yard touchdown with 2:08 left in the third quarter, which was vital to the Cardinals’ comeback victory.
