Wednesday’s graded-stakes winners on the work tab included five who are pre-entered in Breeders’ Cup races,
Seize the Gray, winner of the Preakness and Grade 1 Pennsylvania Derby, breezed six furlongs in 1:13.4 at Churchill Downs ahead of the Breeders’ Cup Classic.
Honor D Lady, who is headed to the Distaff, worked a bullet five furlongs in 59.4 seconds at Keeneland.
Minaret Station, pre-entered in the Juvenile Turf, went four furlongs in 50.0 seconds at Turfway Park. Abientot, pointed to the Juvenile Fillies Turf, went four furlongs in 50.4 seconds at Belmont Park. And La Cara, pre-entered in the Juvenile Fillies, went four furlongs in 48.8 seconds at Churchill Downs.
They were among 14 graded-stakes winners with published works Wednesday.
Seize the Grey (Arrogate), a two-time Grade 1 winner (2024 Pennsylvania Derby, 2024 Preakness), worked six furlongs in 1:13.4 at Churchill Downs on Wednesday morning. It was the only work at the distance. His previous work was 10 days ago going five furlongs at Churchill Downs. In his last start he won the Pennsylvania Derby (G1) going 1 1/8 miles on the main track at Parx Racing on Sept. 21 for trainer D. Wayne Lukas.
