COLUMBIANA – The Way Station is recognizing the most recent graduates of its Jobs: Ready, Set, Go! program. This free six-session program is designed to aid unemployed workers and those needing to transition into a new job field with digital literacy training, how to write a resume and cover letter, how to create an email account, and steps to search and apply for online jobs.
The current class was made up of participants in the Senior Community Employment Program (SCSEP) within the Columbiana Way Station under a contract with Goodwill Industries. SCSEP is a four-year paid on-the-job training and employment program for low-income individuals in Columbiana County over the age of 55 who want to improve their job skills while gaining confidence through work experience.
The next Jobs class will take place at the East Palestine location, 109 W. Rebecca St., beginning March 4 and ending April 2 every Tuesday and Wednesday excluding the week of March 24 from 10 a.m. to noon. Jobs; Ready, Set, Go is free and open to the public.
