Serena Williams is already getting a jump on the next generation of tennis superstars. The 23-time Grand Slam champion and her youngest daughter, Adira, took to the court for a very early lesson, but the littlest Williams wasn’t in the mood to cooperate on camera.

In an adorable Instagram post captioned “When’s too early?,” Adira picks up a tennis ball as Serena tells her to put it in a basket, saying, “Hey Adira, put it in here!” The 14-month-old decides to do things her own way, throwing the ball instead.

The tennis great laments how Adira wasn’t ready to play on camera, explaining, “She was just doing it, man. We turned on the camera, she don’t want to do it.”

In the replies, the seven-time Wimbledon champ’s followers pointed out how fast Adira was growing. Many couldn’t believe this was the baby she just had a year ago.

One fan noted how much Adira looks like her big sister Olympia, replying, “So adorable and Serena you had the same baby twice lol.”

Someone else thinks the girls will carry on the family legacy, commenting, “The next 2 sisters. The Ohanian’ sisters.”

Serena shares Adira and seven-year-old Olympia with her husband Alexis Ohanian. Recently the family has posted more photos and videos of their life, delighting fans. Mom and the girls getting ready to go see Taylor Swift sent the internet into cuteness overload. The groundbreaking athlete is well aware that her days have different priorities and she seems to love it.

In a TikTok clip, the four-time Olympic gold medalist elaborated on how things have changed for her, writing, “My life is very different now. Instead of chasing balls, I’m chasing #Adira and helping #Olympia with tennis lessons and cooking. (And, all this is in-between Venture Capital calls).”

Every once in a while, Serena likes to tease us with hints that she might return to professional tennis. However, if this is how she’s spending her days on the court, it feels like she’s probably having more fun with Adira than she would at any competition.
