The Ohio State football team defied all the odds and naysayers by going through a gauntlet of a postseason schedule to win the program’s ninth-ever national championship. It started with a blowout win over Tennessee to announce to the world that the Buckeyes meant business, continued with a dominating win over No. 1 seed Oregon, continued with a win over another SEC team, Texas, and ended with a guts and grease win over Notre Dame in the College Football Playoff National Championship game.
There have already been many stories come out alluded to the culture of the team and some of what went on behind the scenes — especially following the heartbreaking loss to Michigan to end the regular season, but there’s surely more to tell.
What better place to hear those stories from the OSU program itself? This past week the Buckeye creative media team released a short, just shy of twenty-five-minute documentary of the CFP run. It flashes back from the dejection just after the Michigan game, then goes on a heart-pumping journey through the start of all the fun with some behind-the-scenes video and audio of the locker room, coaches and player meetings, and game film that is sure to leave you with a sense of pride with what this team was able to do.
If you haven’t seen the documentary yet, you are in luck because we have it here in its entirety thanks to the Ohio State Football ‘X’ account. Hit play on the below, then sit back and let time melt away as you reminisce on one of the very special seasons in OSU football history.
It’s awfully hard to win a national championship and these types of seasons should be relished. Think about all of the opportunities Ohio State had over the years only to just miss out. Good on the program for such a good production to commemorate the season, and let’s hope there are more on the way.
