RALEIGH, N.C. — NC State jumped out to a big lead but needed to hang on late in a 79-75 win over Lees-McRae in the final exhibition game before the 2024-25 season. The Wolfpack struggled mightily in the second half on the defensive end and needed late free throws to survive after the Bobcats tied it up multiple times late.
Jayden Taylor led the Wolfpack with 12 points, eight rebounds, five assists and three steals, but did so while shooting 2-for-11 from the floor. Every player that touched the court for the Pack scored on Wednesday night, but State shot 38.7 percent from the floor and 20 percent behind the arc in the tight win.
The Wolfpack’s last scrimmage saw Bryce Heard and Breon Pass make three shots on the night while Dontrez Styles finished with nine points and nine rebounds in the win.
