IU fans greet Dusty May, Mike Woodson before Indiana vs Michigan
The Assembly Hall crowd provided very different greetings for the opposing coaches. May’s name has come up in speculation to replace Woodson.
BLOOMINGTON — Indiana basketball fans gave Michigan coach Dusty May an energetic and enthusiastic greeting upon his return to Assembly Hall on Saturday.
The one they gave their own coach, Mike Woodson, during introductions would best be described as lukewarm. Not a chorus of boos, but not a full-throated celebration of his life as a Hoosier, either.
IU announced Friday that Woodson would step down following the season. One of the obvious names on every speculative hot board is May, a former Hoosier basketball manager who led Florida Atlantic to a Final Four. He is in his first season with the Wolverines.
Watch the lineup introductions above and see how IU greeted both coaches for Saturday’s Big Ten game.
