When the New York Jets hired general manager Darren Mougey, he was a bit of an unknown… at least compared to head coach to Aaron Glenn.
Glenn was a former Jets player and a fan favorite for the team’s vacant coaching position because of that.
Meanwhile, Mougey wasn’t much of an NFL player.
It’s a very difficult business, that’s not a knock on Mougey. After going undrafted at the 2009 NFL draft, Mougey had two stints in training camp with the Arizona Cardinals and Atlanta Falcons and that’s it.
But just to get there deserves some credit. Mougey played wide receiver at San Diego State… and what do you know? He has some highlights from his playing days there.
