Ole Miss likes to bring the hardwood to their sideline, having a basketball hoop. Players will celebrate with the prop after making big plays, especially on the defensive end. It’s been a staple for the Rebels all season and even travels with them on the road.
Well, directly after losing to Florida in Gainesville, the hoop was still there and not immediately heading back to the Ole Miss locker room. Gator players took over after the Rebels cleared the sideline and began to have fun of their own. A Florida logo was slapped on the backboard and dunks began to come down from people in blue jerseys.
A section of fans were watching on, getting loud whenever the ball went through. A great troll from Florida as they reach bowl eligibility under head coach Billy Napier.

Not too long after, a few Ole Miss staffers came back out to recapture the basketball hoop. A video was taken of the prop leaving the sideline and returning to the locker room — presumably without the Florida logo. We will see it again on Black Friday when the Rebels face off against Mississippi State in the Egg Bowl.
Florida was always going to enjoy getting this win. Not only are they bowl eligible despite playing a near-impossible schedule but Ole Miss’ chances of making the College Football Playoff are all but over. The perception of both programs have drastically changed due to the result.
Just one game remains on the schedule for Napier this season. An in-state rivalry against Florida State, one that people in Gainesville expect to be a win. Considering where Florida stood a few years ago, finishing with a 7-5 record with momentum heading into 2025 would be a positive for the Gators.
And maybe there will be a little time to find new ways to troll their opponents. Certainly a good one with the Ole Miss basketball hoops, it will be tough to top.
