Bubba Watson celebrates his hole-in-one at the 2024 Indonesian Masters.

A hole-in-one is one of the rarest and most sought-after feats in golf, with many amateur players going their entire lives without making one. For pro golfers, they aren’t quite as special because they aren’t quite as rare.
When they happen in a tournament, however, they are a lot more exciting, given the money and prestige up for grabs. But what if there was something more on the line like, say, a house for someone who desperately needs one?
That’s the situation Bubba Watson found himself in this week. Watson, a two-time Masters winner who now plays for LIV Golf, is teeing it up at the Indonesian Masters, an Asian Tour event that’s part of the International Series.
The par-3 11th hole at the tournament offers a special charity prize. For anyone who aces it, Habitat for Humanity will donate a house to an Indonesian family in need.
In the third round, Watson made it happen, smacking a wedge on the 154-yard hole and spinning it into the cup for a 1. Check out the shot below.
Watson’s response was somewhat muted, whether from disbelief or from the fact that he couldn’t see the hole from the elevated tee.
No matter because it still counts, and one happy family will get a new home thanks to the LIV Golf star.
And that wasn’t the only good news for Watson. With his ace, Watson shot a 65 and moved to 14 under for the week, good enough for third place. Unfortunately, he’s a distant seven shots off the lead with one round to play.
