Per Anthony Slater of The Athletic, the Golden State Warriors are signing Quinten Post, their 2024 draft pick in the second round, to a two-way contract. To make room, they are waiving Daeqwon Plowden, who was previously signed to a two-way slot after a promising showing in the Summer League.
The Warriors are signing Quinten Post (52nd pick) to a two-way contract ahead of training camp, per source. He’s a stretch center. To make room, they’re waiving Daeqwon Plowden. They still intend to bring Plowden to camp to compete for a two-way spot.

Along with being their only draft pick, another reason why the Warriors are prioritizing him is his profile: a 7-foot center who can stretch the floor and potentially provide some paint and rim protection on the other end. Post would automatically be their tallest player on the roster, with Kevon Looney and Trayce Jackson-Davis tied for the next tallest at 6’9”.
Plowden’s profile as an athletic 3-and-D wing also makes it tough to cast him aside. He will have an opportunity to get back into the two-way picture, but with sharpshooting wing Blake Hinson signing an Exhibit 10 deal and Pat Spencer being the kind of ball-handling jack-of-all-trades player the Warriors system under Steve Kerr would love to have, Plowden will have tough competition along the way.
