Warriors land Xavier wing in second round of latest Bleacher Report NBA mock draft

While the draft is looming for the NFL, the NBA edition of the draft is still long way away. Despite the stretch run of the NBA season still on the docket, it’s never too early to take a peek at what prospects could be available when the Golden State Warriors are on the clock in June.

Although the Warriors won’t have a first-round pick due to the Jimmy Butler trade, they still own a protected second-round pick from the Miami Heat. In the latest NBA mock draft from Bleacher Report, the Warriors landed a 6-foot-8 wing out of Xavier in the second round.

Jonathan Wasserman of Bleacher Report penned Xavier small forward Dailyn Swain to the Warriors at No. 42 overall. According to Wasserman, Swain’s pro comparison is Milwaukee Bucks wing Andre Jackson Jr.

Swain has spent two seasons under Sean Miller at Xavier, averaging 7.4 points on 52% shooting from the field to go along with 4.1 rebounds and 1.9 assists in 57 career games. In his first season in Cincinnati, Swain was named to the Big East All-Freshman team.

As a sophomore, Swain has scored 10 or more points in 17 games for the Musketeers. Swain is coming off his career-high in early February against Georgetown with 18 points on 8-of-11 shooting from the field.

The first round of the NBA draft is slated to start on June 25 at Brooklyn’s Barclays Center.
