It’s safe to assume the Golden State Warriors aren’t finished making moves during the trade season.
The franchise may pursue a respected NBA champion who’s the Washington Wizards’ second-leading scorer.
“With the Washington Wizards looking to move more players at the deadline, Kyle Kuzma is the most appealing one,” Fadeaway World’s Cholo Martin Magsino wrote Monday.
“They could give him to the Golden State Warriors for Andrew Wiggins, a 2027 first-round pick, and one 2026 second-round pick, which could prove useful in trades.”
“Wiggins is having a decent year, averaging 17.4 points, 4.1 rebounds, and 2.3 assists.”
“However, Kuzma might be the better choice since he fits well into the system as a go-to score and a hustle player, as he is averaging 15.8 points, 5.6 rebounds, and 1.9 assists a night.”
Kuzma, who won an NBA championship with the Los Angeles Lakers in 2020, enjoyed a career year with the Wizards last season.
While the Utah product didn’t light it up from beyond the arc, he averaged 22.2 points per contest on 46.3% field goal shooting.
Kuzma’s numbers are down this season, causing the confident scorer and competent defender’s trade value to take a massive hit.
Still, there’s a decent chance the Warriors will take a chance on the proven forward and help improve his overall production.
Statistically, Wiggins’ 2024-25 campaign has been more impressive, but the Warriors may be prepared to swap wings and shake up their roster before the Feb. 6 trade deadline.
