Walmart offering 50% off Walmart+ membership before Black Friday: Here’s what to know

Walmart+ members receive free shipping, delivery, flat fire repair and a Pawp veterinarian membership.
Walmart+ members gain access to the streaming service Paramount+ at no extra cost.

Black Friday is right around the corner, and retailers are gearing up to inform shoppers about special deals, and memberships ahead of the big day.

Walmart’s exclusive membership program, Walmart+, is one of many. Walmart+ offers early access to deals, free shipping and delivery, Paramount+ streaming, fuel discounts, discounted auto care and access to Walmart+ Travel, to name just a few of the perks.

Ahead of Black Friday, Walmart is offering a limited time only deal on its Walmart+ annual membership: 50% off. Typically, an annual Walmart+ membership is $98 per year, but through Dec. 2, customers can cash in on an annual membership for $49 per year.

How much does a Walmart+ membership cost?

There are several Walmart+ plans available:

Traditional plan: $12.95 per month or $98 per year
Walmart+ Student: $6.47 per month or $49 per year (for enrolled or incoming students in undergraduate institutions and/or advanced studies)
Walmart+ Assist: $6.47 per month or $49 per year (for individuals who qualify for government assistance)
Walmart+ InHome: $19.95 per month or $138 per year (free deliveries to door or inside home)

How do you sign up for Walmart+?

Visit walmart.com/plus and create a Walmart account or login with an existing one. You can also sign up for Walmart+ at any Walmart Supercenter.

To enroll in Walmart+ Assist, visit walmart.com/plus/assist. After creating or logging into an existing Walmart account, you will be redirected to SheerID to confirm eligibility. SheerID, a third-party service, may request additional details and documentation. Once your eligibility is confirmed, your Walmart+ Assist membership will become active.

Unlimited free shipping and delivery

Here’s the fine print of Walmart+ free shipping and delivery:

Free next-day, two-day and standard shipping is available on items “shipped by Walmart.”
Oversized and freight items and items sold by third-party retailers are not eligible for free shipping.
Prescriptions ordered through the Walmart website or mobile app are eligible for free delivery.
Walmart+ members will never pay a delivery free, but orders under $35 do require a $6.99 minimum fee.
Walmart+ members may add multiple delivery addresses.
There is no limit on Walmart+ free shipping or delivery.

Quicker in-store transactions

Walmart+ members have access to Mobile Scan & Go through the Walmart mobile app. Mobile Scan & Go allows members to shop, scan and checkout all on their phone.

When utilizing Mobile Scan & Go, members must go through self-checkout to scan a Mobile Scan & Go QR code on one of the registers. This provides a receipt and allows an associate to check an ID for age-restricted items, like alcohol.

Access to Paramount+ streaming

Walmart+ members gain access to the streaming service Paramount+.

If a new Walmart+ member already has a Paramount+ account, the existing account should be deleted first. Members will create a new Paramount+ account through the Walmart+ account hub.

10 cents off per gallon at the fuel pump

Walmart+ members receive the following deals at the fuel pump:

10 cents off per gallon at Exxon and Mobil gas stations
Up to 10 cents off per gallon at select Walmart and Murphy gas stations
Access to Sam’s Club Fuel Center member prices

All fuel types qualify for member prices and there is no limit on the number of times a member can fuel up per day.

More auto details, including free flat tire repair

Walmart Auto Care Centers offers free flat tire repair to all Walmart+ members. This service is typically $15. Walmart+ members can also cash in on a free road-hazard warranty, which is typically $10 per tire.

Free telehealth vet membership

Walmart+ members receive a free annual membership to Pawp, a 24/7 telehealth veterinarian service. Pawp offers unlimited, on-demand live chats with vets and personalized car plans. Typically, a Pawp membership is $19 per month, or $99 annually.

Burger King deals

Walmart+ members get 25% off one Burger King order per day when made through the Burger King mobile app or website, with no order minimum. Members can also get a free Whopper with any purchase every three months with no order minimum.

What is Walmart+ Travel?

Powered through Expedia, Walmart+ Travel is a travel rewards program. When members book through Walmart+ Travel, they receive:

2% in Walmart Cash on airfare
5% in Walmart Cash on hotel reservations, car rentals and other travel activities.

Walmart Cash may be redeemed as cash back or be used on future Walmart purchases. It cannot be used for future travel purchases. Walmart+ Travel is available to non-members, but only members receive Walmart Cash.
