WOLCOTT, Colo. — Freshman Kathrine Vynne fired a 3-under 69 in Monday’s opening round of the Golfweek Red Sky Classic, helping the Little Rock Women’s Golf team into solid positioning with two rounds to play.
After 18 holes, Little Rock is tied for fourth with UC Irvine at 1-over 289, just one stroke behind third-place Kansas and eight strokes off the lead, held by Sacramento State (-7). Laursen is also tied for fourth on the individual leaderboard following a round that included five birdies and 11 pars.
Fellow freshman Elvira Flodstrom is tied for 20th after a round of even 72. Flodstrom birdied three holes on the front nine and another late in the round. Fehild Graesel – returning from an injury that forced her out of last week’s event – is tied for 34th after a 2-over 74 with five birdies. Eleonore Aernouts is also tied for 34th at 2-over 74.
Anna Dawson finished the opening round tied for 46th after a 3-over 75. The senior made three birdies and dropped in an eagle on the 14th hole. The Trojans will tee off the second round Tuesday at 11:10 am local time, 12:10 pm CST.
