At the halfway point of the 2024-25 KHSAA basketball season, Courier Journal readers can vote on the girls midseason basketball player of the year.
The poll closes at 6 p.m. Jan. 21, and the winner will be announced Jan. 22.

Here are the nominees:
Senior ZaKiyah Johnson averages 21.3 points and 5.3 rebounds per game. The Valkyries are 7-2 and were ranked No. 1 in the first Kentucky High School Girls Basketball Media Poll of the season.
Senior Noel Smith averages 21.1 points per game, shooting 60% from the field, and grabs a team-high seven rebounds per game.
Sophomore McKenzie Doss averages 11.7 points per game and has a state-best 15.3 rebounds through six games.
Senior Gwynnie Franz is lighting it up from beyond the 3-point line. She is second in the state for made 3-pointers, shooting 38.7% (55 of 142) from beyond the arc and averaging 4.6 3-pointers per game.
Junior Leah Stinson is averaging 18.7 points and 4.2 rebounds per game for the Vikings.
