No. 5 Tennessee (23-5, 10-5 SEC) won its tenth Southeastern Conference game during the 2024-25 basketball season on Tuesday. The Vols defeated LSU (14-14, 3-12 SEC), 65-59, at Pete Maravich Assembly Center in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Rankings reflect the USA TODAY Sports men’s basketball poll.
Zakai Zeigler led Tennessee in scoring with 17 points, while also leading the Vols in assists (3). Igor Milicic Jr. also recorded three assists.
Chaz Lanier scored 14 points for the Vols and led Tennessee in rebounding (9).
Tennessee converted 23-of-56 field goal attempts, 6-of-22 three-point attempts and 13-of-21 free throw attempts. The Vols out-rebounded LSU, 44-28.
Tennessee will next play on Saturday against Alabama at Food City Center. Tipoff between the Vols and Crimson Tide is slated for 4 p.m. EST and will be televised by ESPN.
Tennessee will have two regular-season games remaining after playing Alabama. The Vols will travel to Ole Miss and host South Carolina to conclude regular-season play. The SEC Tournament will take place March 12-16 at Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Tennessee.
