After the Virginia TO, Saunders misses a long two at the end of the shot clock. Tennessee swings the ball and Milicic cleans up a missed three for a quick layup to get on the board for the night. McKneely launches and misses a tough three. Zeigler turns the ball over after the miss, giving Virginia the ball right back.
Ames rushes to the rim and is fouled hard from behind. He knocks down both free throws. The Vols respond with a powerful putback on the other end. McKneely misses a layup, and TENN travels turning the ball back to the Cavaliers.
Saunders misses a three. The Hoos start 1-9 from the field. TENN misses a three after some nice ball movement. Cofie knocks down his first shot of the game, a clean mid-range jumper. A Vol miss and the Hoos have the ball right back, Rhode attacks the rim and gets blocked by Tennessee’s Okpara. Off the inbound pass, McKneely is fouled while shooting a three. McKneely goes 1-3 from the line.
Some good defense from the Hoos forces a tough midrange miss from the Vols towards the end of the shot clock. A moving screen from Buchanan gives the ball right back to TENN. Media TO.

Ames misses a jumper to start. Tennessee’s Lanier misses a good look. Saunders misses an elbow jumper in the Hoos second possession. Buchanan gets a nice block at the rim, and Saunders gets blocked on the other end as well. Power is forced to hoist and miss a three as the shot clock expires.
Power misses a corner three on a nice pass from McKneely. Zeigler misses a layup on the other end, and the Hoos come right back down and turn it over for the first time in the game. Mashack drives and scores the first bucket of the game. Virginia comes back down and Saunders knocks down a three, the Hoos first basket of the contest. Tennessee’s Lanier commits an offensive foul. Virginia ball.

Update: Baylor and St. John’s went to double overtime in the first semifinal, with Jeremy Roach hitting a buzzer-beating three-pointer to give Baylor a 99-98 victory over St. John’s. The start of the Virginia-Tennessee game will be delayed and likely will not start until around 10:20pm ET.
The winners of the two semifinal games will face off in the Baha Mar Hoops Championship Game on Friday at 9:30pm, while the losers will play in a consolation game on Friday at 7pm.
