In his first season in Minnesota, Aaron Jones has been a star for the Vikings.
The veteran running back is rushing for 5.2 yards per carry so far in 2024, and he has an excellent opportunity to build on those numbers on “Thursday Night Football” against the Los Angeles Rams.
The Rams have had an impossible time stopping the run this season, allowing 151.7 yards on the ground this season – only the Colts and Panthers have allowed more.
After a bye week, Jones returned from injury against the Lions on Sunday, running for 93 yards on just 14 carries.
Against a weak Raiders rushing attack last week, the Rams let Alexander Mattison run for 92 yards, which were easily his most in a game this season.
Coming off a hamstring and hip injury, Jones’ rushing prop for Thursday night is sitting at just 68.5 yards, a number he should have no problem topping.
Jones has fallen short of 68.5 rushing yards in just two of six games played, while the Rams have let their opponents’ primary running back go over this number in every game this season.
Outside circumstances kept him from going over 68.5 rushing yards in both of those contests.
In Week 5 against the Jets, Jones had just seven carries before leaving with a hip injury.
Against the 49ers in Week 2, Jones split rushing attempts essentially 50-50 with Ty Chandler, which hasn’t been the case since then.
Jones’ workload has only increased as the season went on, playing in at least 70 percent of the Vikings’ offensive snaps in each of his last two healthy games.
The play: Aaron Jones Over 68.5 rushing yards (-115, FanDuel Sportsbook)
