Bronny James is getting ready to take on NBA players 1-on-1 in his rookie season with the Los Angeles Lakers.
Trainer Chris Johnson shared a video Wednesday on Instagram showing James practicing with Cleveland Cavaliers guard Darius Garland and free agent Talen Horton-Tucker.
Johnson wrote on Instagram that the drill was meant to give James possession and help him work on “timing and conditioning.”
James, the son of Lakers star LeBron James, joined the Lakers as the No. 55 pick of the 2024 NBA Draft.
He made his Lakers debut this July during Summer League competition in Las Vegas. After a relatively slow start James shone in his last two summer contests as he contributed 25 points on 10-of-21 shooting.
James made 25 appearances and six starts in his freshman 2023-24 season at USC after recovering from heart surgery last summer.
ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski has previously reported that James is expected to move to the G League after making his NBA debut with the Lakers, but offseason work with pros could help the 19-year-old accelerate how quickly he is able to return from the South Bay Lakers.
