This Nostalgic Vera Wang Perfume Has a Long-Lasting Scent That Still ‘Gets Compliments Every Time’ & It’s Less Than $30
Vera Wang, the legendary wedding dress designer and style maven who has never let her age determine what she does (or doesn’t) wear, has been a fixture at Wimbledon for quite some time. Over the past few years, she’s turned heads in her sleek and stylish outfits at the star-studded tennis tournament. This year, however, Wang, who just turned 75 at the end of June, has taken a decidedly different approach to experiencing the sport, one that is very, very relatable: cozy on her couch with a snack in hand.
In a recent Instagram post captioned, “ARMCHAIR WIMBLEDON FAN…. STRAWBERRIES AND CREAM,” Wang showcased her new, very relatable Wimbledon aesthetic. Donning a cozy white robe and her signature sunglasses, she was seen enjoying a dish of strawberries and cream while lounging in front of a flatscreen TV mounted over a fireplace playing the tournament.
This shift from the grandstands to her couch is something of a step in a different direction for the designer who has previously turned heads at Wimbledon with her jaw-dropping outfits. Last year, she wowed on day 14 in a floor-length white mermaid skirt paired with a sleek black t-shirt and a matching cardigan draped casually over her arms. Her look was accessorized with a chic black box purse, a bow hairpiece, and, of course, her signature sunglasses.
Back in 2022, Wang showcased her edgy side, arriving in an all-black, gothic-inspired outfit, complemented by a shiny silver bag. And now that she’s seated on her couch all bundled up in a white plush robe, she’s proved that whether she’s courtside or couch-bound, she’s still a sartorial star.
Wang’s laid-back approach this year seems to fit in with her attitude towards aging — a topic she’s addressed in the most, punk rock, Vera Wang way possible. When media outlets began lauding her for “aging backward,” for posing in a swimsuit back at the end of May, Wang was quick to critique such notions, replying to folks in the comment section commenting on her “agelessness” saying “I am my own person but def not young.”
In interviews, she’s often expressed a disdain for ageism and the fear that comes along with it, calling it “old-fashioned.” As she continues to navigate her 75th year, Wang shows that she is confident as ever, shunning traditional expectations and keeping a growth mindset. “You have to try and continue to grow in one way or another,” she told BBC1 right before her June 27 birthday. Her decision to watch Wimbledon in comfort this year is yet another example of her living life on her own terms, and still doing it in the most stylish way possible.
