The Vietnam’s Association of Foreign Invested Enterprises (VAFIE) and The Investor will organize a workshop on suggestions to amend the government’s Decree 06 on horse racing, greyhound racing and international football betting services.
Betting business is a common trend around the world. The industry currently has a total revenue of hundreds of billions of U.S. dollars.
However, due to many difficulties and obstacles in applying the Decree 06/2017/ND-CP, this business is yet to be formed and developed in Vietnam.
On April 8, 2024, the National Assembly, the country’s highest legislature, issued the National Assembly Standing Committee’s Resolution No. 1035, assigning the Government and the Ministry of Finance to complete legal frameworks for lottery, betting, casino and prize gaming services. The resolution also requires amendements to Decree 06 to be completed no later than 2025.
The workshop aims to bolster the development of legal policies on horse racing, greyhound racing and international football betting services.
It will take place from 1:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, November 28, 2024 at the Ministry of Planning and Investment building, 65 Van Mieu street, Dong Da district, Hanoi.
The event will be attended by National Assembly members, representatives of ministries, experts and leaders of business associations, as well as international and domestic businesses.
