USC football is expected to receive a transfer portal commitment from former Boise State wide receiver Prince Strachan, according to Chris Hummer of CBS Sports. Strachan caught 25 passes for 304 yards and one touchdown at Boise State last season. He’d been with the Broncos for the last two seasons.
Strachan is the 11th transfer pickup for the Trojans this cycle alongside defensive tackle Keeshawn Silver (Kentucky), defensive tackle Jamaal Jarrett (Georgia), running back Eli Sanders (New Mexico), DJ Harvey (San Jose State), punter Sam Johnson (Valparaiso), kicker Caden Chittenden (UNLV), offensive lineman DJ Wingfield (Purdue), junior college running back Waymond Jordan (Hutchinson Community College), quarterback Sam Huard (Utah) and center J’Onre Reed (Syracuse).
Strachan, who’s 6-foot-5 and 211 pounds, visited UCLA and Arizona State in addition to USC. He had interest from other programs as well.

Strachan gives USC another target out wide who will help fill the void left by the departures of Duce Robinson and Kyle Ford. Strachan is a native of the Bahamas who started playing football in 2019, so he could certainly take a leap developmentally next season. Over his last two years at Boise State, Strachan caught 37 passes for 578 yards and three touchdowns.
Outside of Makai Lemon and Ja’Kobi Lane, USC doesn’t have much proven returning talent in its wide receiver room. Strachan will have the chance to earn a starting role as the outside wideout opposite Lane in spring and fall camp.
USC’s other receivers for 2025 include Jay Fair, who should earn a bigger role next season in the slot, Jaden Richardson and Xavier Jordan. USC also added three wideouts from the high school ranks in Tanook Hines, Romero Ison and Corey Simms. Jordan was the lone wide receiver USC signed in its 2024 high school class.
Strachan was a three-star high school prospect out of Fort Pierce (Fla.) John Carroll in the 2022 class. He was the No. 1,576 ranked prospect nationally and the No. 200 receiver. Strachan was not ranked as a transfer recruit in the 247Sports system due to entering the portal on Jan. 4.
