Elsewhere, French Open and Wimbledon finalist Jasmine Paolini faces former world number one Karolina Pliskova, followed by an all-American contest between Emma Raducanu’s conqueror Sofia Kenin and sixth seed Jessica Peluga.
Men’s fifth seed Daniil Medvedev takes on Hungary’s Fabian Marozsan in the evening session.
There is also plenty of doubles action, with significant British interest.
Jamie Murray is due to play in both the men’s and the mixed doubles on court six, Heather Watson goes in the women’s doubles while Neal Skupski and partner Desirae Krawczyk of the US are also in action.
Harriet Dart, Lloyd Glasspool, Olivia Nicholls, Maia Lumsden and Luke Johnson are the other Brits on court in the doubles.
