The Notre Dame football team has its work cut out for it against Ohio State. The Irish know it. The Irish fans know it and the general college football public knows it.
However, the Blue and Gold have had their work cut out for them in every College Football Playoff game so far. And yet, they’ve taken care of business. They took care of business by outscoring Penn State 24-14 in the second half.
So while the Notre Dame football team is a big underdog to Ohio State, they can win. But don’t tell that to former Buckeyes’ head coach Urban Meyer. He thinks OSU is eventually going to roll over Riley Leonard and company as the contest goes on.
Meyer appeared on the Triple Option Podcast to talk about his feelings regarding the National Title game. During that appearance he made it clear that he felt as though the Buckeyes are a a much better team, at least on paper.
“This is a non-talent-equated game,” Meyer said, meaning that the Irish have quite a bit less talent on their roster.
He added that not only does he think OSU will cover the 8.5-point spread but he thinks could get ugly in the second half.
“I think this is a low-scoring game at halftime, and I think the Buckeyes walk away in the second half.”
Some people might think that spells bad news for the Notre Dame football team. However, it’s worth reminding everyone that he’s not exactly unbiased.
