ALAMO, Tenn. — Crockett County High School Basketball Head Coach Rick Rudesill has been suspended pending further investigation, according to the Crockett County Director of Schools Phillip Pratt. The Crockett County Sheriff’s Department also released a statement on Thursday saying the coach has pending criminal charges. The statement reads:
“As the result of a multi-day investigation, the Crockett County Sheriff’s Department received a warrant this morning for the arrest of Rick Rudesill stemming from an incident that occurred February 1, 2025, in the locker room of the Crockett County High School following a basketball game. Eyewitnesses were interviewed, including other coaches, which indicated that the head coach placed his hands on a student athlete’s neck in an unwanted manner to demonstrate his frustration with a game official. An arrest warrant was issued and Mr. Rudesill’s attorney has advised us he will report to the Crockett County Sheriff’s Department for booking. This is an ongoing investigation and anyone with information related to this incident can contact the Crockett County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigation Division at 731-696-2104.”
