Maryland hosts Rutgers at Xfinitiy Center. This is a great spot for Maryland guard Ja’Kobi Gillespie.
Rutgers has allowed opponents to average 74.6 points per game this year. That’s 229th in the nation. The Scarlet Knights also allow opponents to shoot 33.5% from deep. That’s 170th in the nation.
Gillespie averages 15.0 points per game at home this year. He also shoots 42.6% from beyond the arc at home this year. Gillespie has gone higher than 16.5 points in three of his last six home games.
Gillespie can fill it up, and gets a Rutgers team that doesn’t really play defense on his home court. You’ll want to go higher on Gillespie’s points total in your Underdog Fantasy college basketball entry.
George Washington heads to the Reilly Center for a game against St. Bonaventure this afternoon. The Bonnies are tough to score against, and this is a great spot to fade GW guard Gerald Drumgoole.
Drumgoole enters this game averaging 12.9 points, 3.1 rebounds and 1.9 assists per game on the road. He’s gone lower than 17.5 PRA in four out of seven true road games this year.
The Bonnies are 25th in the nation in points allowed. They’re 20th in the nation in rebounds allowed. Drumgoole doesn’t really rack up assists with George Washington. Look for the Bonnies to slow this one down, limit possessions, and keep Drumgoole from going higher than 17.5 PRA today.
Xavier gets a Sunday match up with Villanova at Finneran Pavilion. The Musketeers enter this game allowing opponents to shoot 32.8% from beyond the arc. That’s 139th in the nation. Let’s go back to one of our old reliable plays and take Eric Dixon to go higher than 2.5 3-Pointers made.
Dixon faced Xavier once this year in Cincinnati. He drained a trio of three-pointers on five attempts in that match up.
Dixon also averages 2.7 made three-pointers at home this year. He’s gone higher than 2.5 made three’s in 14 out of 22 games.
Dixon is one of the most reliable plays on the board today, and he gets a match up that he’s already shown he could succeed against. Lock up Dixon to go higher than 2.5 3-pointers made in your Underdog Fantasy college basketball entry for February 9th.
