ANDREWS, Texas — Three of El Paso’s eight remaining teams in the UIL area round basketball playoffs are competing at Andrews High School in the Class 5A playoffs, where they can advance to the regional semifinals.
Chapin, 33-1 and ranked No. 5 in the state by the Texas Association of Basketball Coaches and No. 1 in El Paso, faces 31-5 Amarillo High at 4 p.m.MT/5 p.m. CT. The Sandies are ranked No. 13 in the state. Chapin and Amarillo High are in Class 5A, Division 1.
First up at 2 p.m. MT/3 p.m. CT is Andress vs. Amarillo Palo Duro in a Class 5A, Division 2 matchup and at 6 p.m. MT/7 p.m. CT, El Paso High takes on Wichita Falls Legacy in a Class 5A, Division 1 matchup.
