EVANSVILLE, Ind. – Thursday’s match-play contest against the University of Southern Indiana saw both University of Evansville golf teams pick up victories at Cambridge Golf Course. The Purple Aces men earned a 7.5-2.5 win while the women won by a 5.5-2.5 final.
Andres Rodriguez defeated Sam Vertanen as he was up four holes with three remaining. Daniil Romashkin earned a 6&5 decitsion over Chandler Ornelas while Bryce Conlee finished 2UP over Tye Boone. Masatoyo Kato defeated Wade Worthington, 2&1 while Andrew Rottschalk was up four with three remaning against Hunter Reynolds.
Miguel Sabrado (3&2) and Jamison Ousley (1UP) also picked up win for the guys while Omah Khalid halved against Carter Goebel.
Louise Standtke and Kate Petrova each picked up victories on the women’s side. Standtke was up four with three holes left while Petrova earned a 7&6 decision. Elizabeth Mercer finished 1UP against Fernanda Vera while Trinity Dubbs completed her day up eight with six holes remaining.
