UConn women’s basketball won the 2024-25 Big East regular season championship with a 72-53 win over the Creighton Bluejays on Thursday. It’s the Huskies’ 31st regular season crown (24th in the Big East) and 60th conference title overall.
Sarah Strong led the team with 22 points on 10-13 shooting while notching nine rebounds, three steals and three blocks. Paige Bueckers added 15 points, seven assists and seven rebounds while Kaitlyn Chen also reached double-figures with 11 points.

The first quarter proved to be offense-averse for both sides. The Huskies missed their first eight shots and failed to score through the first 4:05. UConn took the lead on a mid-range jumper from Fudd with 45 seconds left in the opening quarter then blitzed the Bluejays to start the second. The Huskies scored nine of the first 10 points and made seven of their first nine shots. They out-scored the visitors 27-12 in the period to take a 16-point advantage into the locker room.
Out of the break, UConn’s offense kept humming with 25 points in third quarter en route to a 19-point victory.
