EAST HARTFORD, CT (WFSB) – On Saturday afternoon, the UCONN Football team continued their six game home stand with an impressive 47-3 victory against Buffalo.
The momentum swung in the Huskies direction early on, courtesy of a 43-yard rushing touchdown by Norwalk native Cam Edwards.
Edwards’ score on the ground and a field goal helped the Huskies take a 10-0 lead into the second quarter.
Starting Quarterback Nick Evers suffered an injury early in the quarter. He left the game and did not return.
Backup Joe Fagnano came into the game and helped the Huskies add to their early lead.
The connection between Fagnano and wide receiver Skyler Bell was firing on all cylinders, with all three of Fagnano’s touchdowns going to him.
Bell finished the game with six catches for 153 yards to add on to the three scores.
The Huskies dominated the game from start to finish, and left no doubt out on the gridiron.
UCONN will play its third of six straight home games next Saturday against Temple.
Kickoff is set for 3:30pm at Rentschler Field.
