The police apprehended two youths who were luring people into a gambling near Hotel Indian Palace.
The police team have also recovered around Rs 6,000 from the possession.
The accused, who have been identified as Ram Ji Chaudhary and Sanjeet Kumar, are both residents
of the Maheshpur village, Sector 21.
The arrests were a part of the broader initiative to enforce a total gambling ban in the district. Following guidance from Commissioner of Police Rakesh Kumar Arya, Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Himadri Kaushik has instructed a strict crackdown on gambling activities.
Acting on a tip-off, the police sent an undercover officer as a fake customer to collect evidence.
The accused were found in possession of Rs 5,850 in cash and gambling material.
A case has under Section 13A of the Gambling Act has been registered at the Sector 5 police station.
