Two cars Thursday afternoon drove off the road and into a restaurant in Raleigh.
The WRAL Breaking News Tracker captured video of two cars that had crashed into Rudino’s Sports Corner on Edward’s Mill Road.
Witney Jones, a waitress at the bar, said she was sitting in the break room at the bar when the crash happened.
“I heard a large boom and the lights went out,” she said.
According to authorities, both cars crashed into the building after a traffic accident. One of the cars hit the patio area of the sports bar and the second stopped at a tree near electrical meter boxes on the building.
This marks the second time a car has crashed into the bar. In 2022, a car plowed through the deck after they pushed down on the gas pedal instead of the brake. Jones said several cars go way to fast around the restaurant.
Police said two people were taken to the hospital with minor injuries and the building has no structural damage that will affect their investigation.
While roads were slick Thursday from rain throughout the day in Raleigh, it is unclear if it was weather related.
