TRUSSVILLE, Ala.–The Trussville Daybreak Rotary Club held its 32nd annual charity golf tournament on Monday at the Grayson Valley Country Club, helping raise money for scholarships and other local projects.

This year’s tournament, presented by Milam and Co. Construction, raised approximately $20,000 for scholarships for area high school seniors.

The team from Lifewave made up of David Jett, Tracy Neal, Justin Kattus, and Saxon Rockett finished first in the tournament.

Second place went to the Courtesy Buick GMC team, which included Drew Lolley, Craig Foster, Alex Benson, and Steve Clugston.

And Commissioner Joe Knight’s Team of Joe Knight, Stan Hogeland, Buddy Choat, and Cal Markert placed third.

Courtesy Buick GMC once again sponsored the fan-favorite ball drop, where about 1,200 golf balls were dropped from a Jefferson County Sheriff’s Department helicopter.

The lucky winner, Mike Milam, walked away with $2,000 in prize money.

Next year’s tournament is scheduled for Monday, Oct. 6 at the Grayson Valley Country Club.
