Sunday afternoon’s likely assassination attempt on former President Donald Trump occurred at Trump International Golf Club.
While Trump was not injured during the incident, a person is in custody after apparently trying to shoot Trump while the former president was golfing. Officials said a Secret Service agent saw a barrel sticking out the bushes and “engaged” with the person. The person fled and was later caught in Martin County.
Officials said they found an AK-47 rifle, two backpacks and a GoPro video camera in the area of bushes he was spotted.

The golf course is located in unincorporated West Palm Beach, about 4 1/2 miles directly west of Trump’s Mar-a-Lago estate in the neighboring town of Palm Beach.. Part of the course sits next to the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office jail and it is just south of Palm Beach International Airport (PBIA).
Trump owns Trump International Golf Club in unincorporated West Palm Beach, one of three golf courses Trump owns in Florida.
He also owns Trump National Golf Club in Jupiter, Florida, about 14 miles north of his West Palm Beach-area course, and Trump National Doral in Doral, Florida, about 14 miles from Miami.
While Trump built Trump International Golf Club, Palm Beach County owns the land and Trump leases the more than 200 acres of land through a long-term contract.
The lease of the land dates to the 1990s and was spurred by a $75 million lawsuit Trump filed against the county.
The suit was prompted by his ire over noise from planes flying over Mar-a-Lago as they approached or departed from nearby PBIA.
The lawsuit was resolved in 1996 with a long lease on the 214 acres just south of the airport. In 2002, the county struck a deal to lease Trump more land for a nine-hole golf course.
The agreements require Trump to make monthly payments that have increased over the years.
Yes. The golf club is Trump’s go-to fairway and green when he is in Palm Beach County. It’s also where he hosts his annual Super Bowl party.
