With Pennsylvania as lynchpin to the Nov. 5 election, former president Donald Trump will attend the New York Jets game against the Pittsburgh Steelers at Acrisure Stadium on Sunday night.
Trump will watch Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers, who flirted with the notion of running against Trump as the vice presidential pick of independent candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. Kennedy eventually pulled out of the race and endorsed Trump.
The Steelers issued a statement on Saturday, warning fans to get to the stadium early, allowing time for any security delays:
“With former President Trump expected to attend Sunday night’s game as a guest of an individual suite holder, we are working with Secret Service and local authorities to ensure the safety and security of all our fans,” the statement read.
“As always, we will work to make the fan experience the same as it always is for every Steelers’ home game at Acrisure Stadium. We encourage fans to arrive early to the parking lots and to the gates, so they can enjoy our pregame experience and our celebrations throughout the game that will honor the 50th anniversary of our Super Bowl IX team.”
Meanwhile, a top campaign official for Kamala Harris said the Democratic presidential nominee is focused on seven swing states and “we are going to fight for every vote.”
In an interview with CNN’s Inside Politics Friday, David Plouffe said they believe the November election will come down to small margins in Nevada, Arizona, Wisconsin, Michigan, Pennsylvania, Georgia and North Carolina and “Kamala Harris has a pathway” to win in each.
Plouffe said the campaign is treating every different voting bloc “like they’re a swing voter.”
