Trump creates sovereign wealth fund, to possibly buy TikTok
President Donald Trump signed an executive order to create the nation’s first sovereign wealth fund, which could be used to purchase TikTok.
Federal officials could withhold funding from schools that allow transgender women and girls to play women’s sports and block transgender athletes from entering the country for the 2028 Olympics under a new executive order signed by President Donald Trump.
Schools are “on notice” that they could lose federal funding if they are out of compliance with the order, Trump said before signing the document amid a crowd of supporters at the White House.
“From now on women’s sports will be only for women,” he said.
The president said federal officials will pursue an investigation under Title IX, the federal law prohibiting discrimination based on sex in educational institutions. Some legal experts question whether the Trump administration’s interpretation of the law would hold sway in court.
Trump made opposing transgender individuals in women’s sports a centerpiece of his campaign and pitched the executive order as delivering on that promise.
