In the final Trib HSSN girls basketball state rankings of January, the cream is starting to rise to the top in preparation for the upcoming district playoffs coming in a couple of weeks.
There was very little movement in the Top 5 this week compared to last week. In fact, only two teams dropped out of the state girls hoops rankings.
In Class 6A, a couple of losses dropped Upper St. Clair out and opened the door for undefeated Mechanicsburg to enter.
In Class 2A, Bishop McCort lost and fell out while Neshannock entered the land of the elite.
The little change theme included the teams at the top as all six No. 1 teams are the same as last week with Hazleton in 6A, South Fayette in 5A, Scranton Prep in 4A, Shady Side Academy in 3A, Kennedy Catholic in 2A and Bishop Guilfoyle in A still on top.
