Travis Kelce is ready for “year 13.”
The Kansas City Chiefs player discussed his decision to play another NFL season during Wednesday’s episode of “New Heights.”
The conversation kickstarted when his brother, Jason Kelce, asked “how Travis goes about making big life decisions.”
The tight end, 35, replied, “It’s similar to all the other decisions I make. Off the feels. I’m not a big, like, measure the pros and cons, all that.”
Travis, instead, prefers to go off of “pure gut.”
Jason, 37, gushed, “I relish that about you so much. … You have this really good way of not worrying about all these little ridiculous dumb things about what could be or what if’s.”
The ESPN analyst admitted he is “jealous” of his sibling’s ability to not get “bogged down or [be] indecisive.”
Travis explained that he “never second-guessed” his “responsibility” to play the final year of his contract and “pulled the trigger as soon as [he] had that feeling.”
The “Catching Kelce” alum believes he can still play “at a high level” and wants to make up for “let[ting his] guys down” on the field recently, referencing the Super Bowl 2025.
“I want to give it a good run. I got a bad taste in my mouth on how I ended the year and how well I was playing and how accountable I was to the people around me.”
The former reality star, who is “not ready to leave that life yet,” sparked retirement rumors in February after his Missouri-based team lost Super Bowl LIX to the Philadelphia Eagles in a blowout game.
However, Travis announced his decision to stay with a text sent to ESPN’s Pat McAfee last month.
“I’m coming back, for sure,” he wrote in February. “Gonna try and get to the best shape I’ve been this offseason and get back to the mountaintop. … I can’t go out like that!!!!”
The athlete said on Wednesday that he “would have thought about [retirement] more” if he won and got to “go out on top.”
Since his headline-making loss, Travis has been spending time with girlfriend Taylor Swift out of the public eye.
Not only did the pair recently enjoy a private getaway, but they felt “lucky” to go unnoticed on a subsequent date night.
The duo “had a really nice time reconnecting after a very busy year,” a source told Page Six, referencing Travis’ NFL season and the pop star’s record-breaking Eras Tour.
The couple became an item in the summer of 2023.
